About Ryan Sellz
I'm Ryan Sellz, founder of Rise Personal Training in Granada Hills, California.
I've been coaching and training professionally for the past 20 years. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from Cal State Northridge along with various certifications in personal training, strength and conditioning, and nutrition.
Before opening Rise Personal Training in 2014, I worked in a variety of coaching settings. I trained clients privately, worked in sports performance, coached corporate wellness at Google headquarters, and spent time at Exos, one of the leading human performance organizations in the country. Those experiences gave me the opportunity to work with people from many different backgrounds and helped shape the way I coach today.
I started Rise because I wanted to bring that level of coaching to the San Fernando Valley in a private environment where people could get real attention and a program built around their goals.
Over the years, the Rise Methodology developed through working with thousands of clients. As the business grew, we refined our coaching process, training systems, and approach to helping people achieve lasting results.
Today, I work primarily with adults over 40 who want to get stronger, stay healthy, move better, and continue doing the things they enjoy for years to come.
I also host the Rise Personal Training Podcast, where I share practical advice on training, nutrition, recovery, and long-term health.
If you're reading one of my articles, everything I write comes from time spent actually coaching people. The ideas, strategies, and recommendations shared on this site are based on years of working with clients and helping them improve their strength, health, and fitness.
